Dear Mr. Ra,

Let me share with you my vision of the future for generative AI and how businesses will integrate this technology in the next 3–5 years.

In the coming years, generative AI will play a pivotal role in transforming the business landscape. The integration of human and digital skills will be a hallmark of this future. As businesses adapt to this paradigm shift, employees and business users will find themselves in a world where their capabilities are not limited to traditional experiences and personal skills alone.

Imagine a scenario where job applicants no longer just submit their resumes detailing their work history and personal attributes. Instead, they will also present a comprehensive list and descriptions of their digital skills. These digital skills will represent their accumulated experiences and knowledge, meticulously digitized over time.

This transformation will offer significant benefits. As people digitize their expertise, they will be able to put it to use, share it with their peers, and even pass it on to future generations. It will be akin to leaving a digital legacy — a repository of valuable skills that can be utilized even after retirement.

Traditionally, when employees retire, they take with them a wealth of skills and knowledge that leave a void in the business world. However, with the advent of AI-driven digitization, these skills need not vanish. Instead, retirees can capitalize on their past experiences by selling or sharing their digital skill sets with others. This way, they can continue to contribute to the business ecosystem while also generating income from their expertise.

When starting a new job, individuals should not feel reliant on specific technologies or tools used by the company. Businesses can adopt various efficiency-enhancing tools like ChatGPT, Dell Boomi, or others. However, in some cases, if you move to a new company with a different system, they may not use the same automation tools as your previous workplace. This can present a new challenge, as tasks that were previously automated may now require manual attention.

To address this issue, it should be possible for individuals to seamlessly integrate their digital skills into the new work environment. The process of integrating these skills should be user-friendly and straightforward, without necessitating involvement from the IT team or complicated integrations.

With the release of ChatGPT, this integration has become feasible. Business leaders today stress the importance of incorporating AI to empower employees in their daily tasks, without implying that people will be replaced. The ultimate goal is to harness AI technologies to empower and support human capabilities.

Currently, numerous companies are actively incorporating Generative AI technologies into their existing or upcoming products. However, a noticeable gap remains. While leaders and individuals advocate for the integration of AI into daily work, there is a lack of accessible tools to facilitate this process. Although ChatGPT offers a range of functionalities, its true potential lies in integration with business tools. The concept of question and answer is valuable, but to truly empower employees and enhance productivity, it is crucial to reduce routine tasks, eliminate unnecessary steps in existing workflows, and seamlessly integrate AI with business tools and applications.

In the coming years, more corporations will adopt generative AI technologies, and employees will begin using them. Nevertheless, challenges will persist in maximizing their efficiency. The predicament arises when individuals transition to new companies, as their ability to utilize generative AI tools hinges on whether the new workplace has implemented them or not.

The vision of Personal Generative AI revolves around creating AI models and capabilities tailored for individual users rather than solely focusing on companies. This future is expected to materialize within the next 4–5 years, possibly even sooner. As the market evolves, it will recognize the importance of personalized and secure Generative AI, which will lead to the development of personal digital skills. This achievement can be made possible by integrating the following components:

  • Personal Generative AI models: These models will be specifically designed, isolated, and secured for each individual user, ensuring privacy and personalization.
  • Training technology for skill digitization: Implementing a straightforward and user-friendly interface will empower any business user to train their AI model and effectively digitize their skills.
  • Seamless integration with enterprise software: A simple and intuitive tool capable of integrating with various enterprise software, from SAP to HubSpot, will facilitate smooth data exchange.
  • Descriptive APIs for business systems: By describing business systems and applications in a manner that Generative AI models can understand when users input skills in free text, seamless comprehension is ensured.
  • Personalized conversational UI interface: The tool should feature a conversational user interface tailored to each user’s preferences and needs, enhancing the overall experience.
  • Marketplace for digital skills: Establishing a marketplace where companies or individuals can purchase and share digital skills will foster collaboration and knowledge exchange.
  • Tool for businesses to accumulate digital skills;

By synergizing these elements, the realization of Personal Generative AI and personal digital skills will empower individuals and organizations, shaping a future where AI technologies become an invaluable asset in personalized and secure work environments.

Users who choose to digitize their experiences with such tools will benefit from endless possibilities. Moving to alternative tools becomes challenging, as it would require retraining with all their acquired skills and knowledge. However, considering that these tools can lead to higher-paying job opportunities, end-users find it reasonable to pay for them. In essence, companies will indirectly cover the cost of these tools through their employees’ salaries.

This concept extends to students as well. They have the opportunity to purchase packages of digital skills from experienced professionals, enabling them to begin their career journey at a higher level rather than starting from scratch. Additionally, the use of conversational UI interfaces will become more prevalent, replacing traditional business tool interfaces for enhanced user interaction and efficiency. This transformative approach opens up new avenues for both working professionals and aspiring learners, shaping a future where the acquisition and utilization of digital skills become a powerful asset in personal and professional growth.
